Whew...what a crazy time of year. For some reason I don't recall last school year being this busy , but I am stacked with evaluations, transition IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and just the basic end of the year wrap up. I suppose I was this busy last year, however this year I also have to make transition papers for all of my students, because I will have a sub at the beginning of next year. So...instead of focusing on how much I have to do...let's focus on some things I am excited about!
1. Officially signing my part time contract for next year!!!
2. Having off work June-October!!!!
3. Expecting and planning for BABY L!!!
4. Having some of the most awesome co-workers EVER!!!
5. LOVING my job!!! (even when I have to work from home :/)
6. That my entire family is home and healthy!!!
7. Swimming outside this summer before BABY L comes- momma's got to get her tan on!!!
8. Baby L rolling around and kicking like crazy (especially when momma's trying to get some sleep)
9. Taking baby class and learning about the excitement that is about to happen!!!
10. Having an AMAZING husband, who I get to see getting more and more excited about our baby EVERY DAY!!! <3
I hope you all have many things that you are excited about right now! My social calendar is BLOWING up in May! I can not wait to spend lots of time with so many people I care about!
Now...if you can write a blog using more !!!! I dare you... :)
A blog about being a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, and an OT. Making life more fun one day at a time!

Growing belly!!!
Card Making!!
I used to REALLY be into scrap-booking, but then it just got to the point where I felt like they took up too much space, so now I am doing digital scrap-booking. HOWEVER, because of the fact that I like to be semi-creative and make things I have recently gotten into card making. I make mini-card, regular cards, and most recently cards from card kits like this one found at Archivers for $15:
http://www.archiversannex.com/Pyrus-Card-Kit-Makes-8-Cards-With-Envelopes-CRD2903/default.aspx?PageID=21&CategoryID=69&ProductID=26581&PPG=1&RootCatCode=11400
The only thing I needed to provide was adhesives, scissors,
and a black journaling pen.
And here are my cards all finished!!

I think they turned out VERY cute!! And I will defiantly be getting another package. The trash was minimal, and it lasted me a few hours of fun! I better get my hands on them before Baby L comes, because I know I will not have time to do them when he/she arrives! I HIGHLY recommend these card kits!

Hello Party People!!!
Where have you all been? Sorry I have been a little busy lately...just basic life things. Scott and I had some fun happenings in this past week. Also, work has been super busy- 'tis the season...IEP season...out with the 5th graders and in with the kindergartners!
First we held our second "annual" (we will use that term lightly since this event has not taken place each year, but every couple of years) Root von Root Wine Tasting! It was a HUGE success!! First off let me say a HUGE thanks Scott for making all your yummy wine/beer for our friends to drink! I think everything was HIT! I personally could not compare tasting notes, because obviously I am not drinking alcohol right now :/ But from what I heard everyone LOVED everything they were trying! Also, a BIG thank you to our friend Liz who provided us with some AMAZING finger foods!! Each one was better than the previous, and there were like 25 things, so you can only imagine how yummy the snacks were! I also want to thank EVERYONE who was able to come out and join the party! It is always so great to see my friends and family, and all under my roof made it more exciting. I have this feeling that we will not have another BIG event like that until after Baby L has arrived, so that is exciting too!!!
I had my 7 month check up at the OB on Monday. The doctor said everything looked great, basically regarding my recent blood work- over spring break I had to take a one hour glucose test. This required me to drink a CRAZY sugary drink, wait one hour in the OB office, and then have about 4 vials of blood drawn. Well the results came back and EVERYTHING looked good!! YAY!!! One more thing to check off the list! The baby's heart beat was 130 BPM and kicking like crazy. I have gained some weight :/ the OB is NOT concerned, however I don't think I can grasp the gaining weight thing...I have tried SO hard all of my life to NOT gain weight, that gaining now is a little frightening! I continue to swim 3 times a week (when there is not bad weather/tornado's!!), and eat "fairly" well....I'll use that term lightly, since all I want is fruit and fruit flavored things lately :)
Speaking of Baby L- Scott and I started our Birthing classes last night. I am not going to lie I was expecting Scott and I to be the oldest in the class...however out of 10 couples we were right in there age wise. (There was one couple who looked pretty young...but others who looked right around our age) We were the only couple who are not finding out if we are having a boy/girl...so that is pretty exciting! During our first class we learned that if there is a tornado warning we have to go to the basement! We spent about 45 minutes in the basement of the nursing institute while the BIG storm passed. We also learned that I am CRAZY ticklish and can not stand having my neck/shoulders massaged without laughing. However I do like my lower back to be massaged :) I think we were SUPPOSED to learn that there are 2 basic breathing techniques, and your husband needs to be attentive during labor- rather than watching TV/eating :) Next week is the tour of the labor and delivery floor!
Well I am off to watch Extreme Couponing!! This TV show actually makes me anxious, but I can't help but watch it!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend ahead! I am looking forward to my 4 day weekend, and hoping it won't rain EVERY day!

Project FAIL!!!
I was going to make a French style bulletin board for the baby's room, because I could not find a picture frame that I liked that matched my owl design. AND they just came out with a 3rd fabric in the owl series that matches PERFECTLY!
So let's see how the French Bulliten Board making went:
Step 1: Buy supplies- bulliten board and enough fabric to cover the entire thing (with a little more so you can fold it over the edges to secure it.

Step 2: Buy more supplies- ribbon to attach and make the diagonal design, a cute decoration to place where the ribbon crosses.

Step 3: Gather securing materials- glue gun, extra glue sticks, stapler, extra staples, and scissors
Step 4: Secure the fabric on the bulletin board using staples on the back.
Step 5: Lay out the ribbon and decorative pieces to make sure you like the way it looks.
Step 6: Secure all pieces with glue gun.

Now sit back and admire your uneven crookedly designed board....blah....Because of how the ribbon was laying I was unable to attach it corner to corner, which threw off the entire design. OH well...live and learn!
THEREFORE: I will not attempt this again...and I did remove everything off the board, purchased a new piece of fabric, and covered the board. I then bought colorful push pins and the bulletin board will simply be a plain fabric covered board covered with pictures of our little one :)

Our Baby's name choices
This makes me excited that Scott and I could mostly agree on a girl name and a boy name for our baby. I was recently doing some research on name meanings and origins. (mostly to make myself feel better because NONE of the grandparents like our boy name choice)
Lets start with our GIRL choice: Allison Claire- I wanted Allyson, but hey it's all the same ;)
Allison is English and means noble or bright...can't go wrong there!
Claire is French and it means famous one or bright...LOVE it!
Now for our BOY choice: Owen Thomas- Love this boys name, I think it flows well together.
Owen is Irish and means born to nobility or young warrior- I feel like it fits all the happenings at the beginning of my pregnancy.
Thomas has many origins, Greek, English, Irish, and Hebrew- it means twin, and was the name of one of the twelve Apostles
Now that we have talked about the meanings and origins of the names we chose I hope I have won you all over on the name front..if not I'm sure the baby will when he/she makes her/his big appearance :)

BREAKFAST TIME!!!
mmm...We interfere the horrible attempt at a 30 day blogging challenge to bring you: What I made for breakfast :)
TO DIE FOR BLUEBERRY MUFFINS found HERE on ALLRECIPES.COM
Of course I used apple sauce instead of oil (I did add about 1 TBSP of oil so they would not stick to the pan), and I WOULD have used whole wheat flour with flax, bran, and wheat germ, but we were out...and the only store I went to yesterday did not have any :( Also I want to add that the topping was a bit much, I used 1/2 of the butter called for, but next time I will not even add a topping at all. I did use organic blueberries but I think any kind would work, and I added the entire little plastic container, I didn't measure out 1 Cup. The recipe says it makes 8, but mine made 9 and they were all a good size. So...how did it turn out? AWESOME!!!!

MMM...I feel like Susie Homemaker, I even did the dishes afterward! ;) (that was for Liz) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I have a sick husband...so my weekend has been pretty low-key. Until next time!! (Don't hold your breath)
