Blogger FAIL!

Well obviously I did not do very well with this blogger challenge, I have missed so many days already. Life got busy this weekend, and then it was back to the real world and work. NO MORE SPRING BREAK!

So here are days 6-9 :)

Day 6 - A picture of something you'd like to do again- Visit New Orleans!! Probably one of my favorite vacations last year!!!!

Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item- I had to pick an item and not a person, so I choose my wedding ring, not because of it's beauty, or worth, but because of what it stands for. The unconditional and never ending love for my husband :X

Day 8 - A picture that makes you laugh- VROOM!!!!!

Day 9 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most- this one was tough, it was between my husband and my mom...but I have known my mom a little longer so I went with her :)

Day 4 - A picture of your night- I made Ziti- my first attempt at Mrs. Young's recipe...it didn't turn out exactly the same, however it was edible!

Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory- because I can't just have 1 :)

Graduating with my Masters of Occupational Therapy
Getting Engaged to my Root!

The look on my husbands face- waiting for me at the end of the aisle

Traveling around Maui together on our Honeymoon!

Expecting our first LITTLE ONE July 2011!!!

Our Bathroom Remodel!!!

Long story short we had a regular sized window in our bathroom- 32X58 with a wooden windowsill all around it, and it HAD to go. We were showering with a shower curtain on each side because of the wooden windowsill, the fact that someone could see you showering through the window, and ants were able to get through the window- sneaky bastards. THEREFORE we had a glassblock window installed. And the window it's self looked GREAT! But there was a BIG HUGE hole of exposed interior brick after all was said and done. Picture 1- after Glassblocks were installed with huge hole, and cheap tub surround.
So as you can see we absolutely HAD to get the window re-framed and we might as well replace the cheap tub surround and shower head/valve/nozzle while were at it! So we hired some guys, and we had planned on a 1 day install- it ended up taking 3! However take a peak at this finished product! 1000000 times nicer than before :)Next on my list...the vanity and mirror :) Or maybe I can find a combination vanity with mirror...Oh the possibilities!!! But...SHHHH!!! Don't tell my husband....I have to wait until the PERFECT moment to bring it up ;)

Day 2- Day 3

Yup that's right people...day 2 came and went on my 30 day blogging challenge and I already missed a day. Usually people begin something and at least make it 4-5 days before screwing up right? Well not me!!! I wonder how many days it will take me to complete this 30 day of blogs? My guess is maybe like 45 ;)

So here it is:
Day 2 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest- my mom of course :)

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show- Jersey Shore- Ronnie and Sam have a toxic relationship that is not fit for anyone, and Vinny is cute ;)

My Love....

This is a few days late, but I want to give the biggest happy birthday wish ever to my HUSBAND! My one true love in life. The one who can put up with my questions (and really I have a LOT of them) and my random thoughts. The guy who loves his family, and mine just the same. The one who loves me even on a bad day, and who can make me smile and laugh at any situation.

What a great guy I have, and how lucky I am to have found him in this world. We have had an amazing life together the past 5 or so years. We had a great time dating, experiencing many things together, a picture perfect engagement and wedding, and a little one on the way! We have a GREAT time traveling together, last year we went to New Orleans, Las Vegas, Napa Valley/San Francisco, Chicago a few times, Kansas City, and the Bahamas! I am hoping we will be able to travel (even if it is just a little) with our little one in the future.

So Root Toot I hope you had a wonderful birthday, I was so happy to share that day with you and am looking forward for many more to come! I love you!!!

Thoughts and Prayers for others....

It has been a busy week in the prayer request department, so I am throwing out some families that could really use some extra thoughts and prayers, the more the merrier right?

1) My sister-in-law's brother and sister-in-law just had a new addition to their family earlier this week! Baby girl, and everyone is doing well. Just hoping they have a smooth transition back home with their little one.

2) A co-worker of mine just found out she is expecting! She is having some complications and I am hoping for everything to work out well and for her to have a healthy pregnancy!

3) Another co-worker of mine has a cousin who was in a pretty serious car accident earlier this week, he is in the ICU with multiple broken bones and on a ventilator. He is only 16 years old and could really use some positive thoughts.

4) Multiple friends are having difficulties finding jobs some have been searching for a LONG time!!!! Please say a prayer that something great will come along, I'm sure it makes paying bills and sleeping difficult.

5) Other friends of mine are either selling and or buying/building their homes. Please send some positive thoughts that everything goes smoothly in a timely manner so they can transition their lives where they would like to be. 2 families all back together, and a new home for a baby on the way!

6) The families of the US Marshall that was killed earlier this week, and the 2 who were injured. All related to drugs :'( What a sad situation.

I'm sure everyone on this blog will appreciate all the extra positive thoughts coming their way!

Mardi Gras WEEKEND!!!!

One of my favorite holidays of the year (my favorite is St. Patrick's Day!!!) was this weekend! MARDI GRAS!!! After experiencing the St. Louis Mardi Gras for the past 4 years and having visited NOLA I can not IMAGINE the party that takes place during the Mardi Gras month(s) in NOLA. I mean it is just CRAZY in St. Louis, and NOLA is ALWAYS a party...putting the two together might put me over the top on the fun meter. None the less I had a great time in St. Louis this year!!!

Breakfast of Champions began nice and early with homemade beignets, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, quiche, and doughnuts....mmm... Scott provided 2 kegs of beer for the festivities, as well as a little 2- 1/4 gallon "party pig". This was amongst the 100's of jello shots, coolers of bloody mary's, and jugs of Mimosas. Needless to say no one went thirsty. And now you are probably wondering what I had to drink...well I started off with water on the rocks, and for the parade Liz made me some "prego juice"- pomegranate and blueberry juice mixed with ginger ale. It was SUPER yummy!!

There was a pretty big group of folks who come to party at the Young's house. We all gathered up about 11:30am and headed down to the parade...about 3-5 block walk. Along the way we passed a "Hot Chocolate for Haiti" stand. It was being run by 4 little girls and 2 little boys (ages 7-1). They had sold the hot chocolate last year also, and we heard that they had raised $600 to donate to Haiti!! The idea was from the 7 year old little girl who wanted to do something nice for Haiti after their earthquake last year. What a big heart that little girl has!! How could you NOT donate to the cause? It brings a little tear to my eye :')

Well the parade was typical, well maybe everything except for the Jimmy John's float! They were throwing out mini subs instead of beads!! haha!! IT was great! I did not see anyone actually eating one of the subs, but they were smeared all over the street/sidewalk. I spent most of the time trying to avoid catching beads (I know not the "norm") I did however make one BIG catch! I caught about 8 strands of beads with craw-fish on them, those will be beads I will keep. I think we have found our spot...the past few years we have spent most of our parade time at the end of the parade, and the floats are just dumping the rest of their beads by then. So if you want a TON of beads, that is the place to be.

About 2:30 a few of us became cold and headed up to the VFW to check it out. It was a small VFW- and I heard raves about the bratwurst's they were making. I do not eat that type of meat, and I had a Gus' pretzel (it tasted like grass :/ ). From there we headed over to the Cat's Meow...but it is ALWAYS so smokey inside...and I couldn't hang for very long. We ordered drinks (I was good with my H2O) and headed back to the Youngs. Well we walk out of the bar and who do we run into? The Youngs!! It was perfect timing!

The rest of the afternoon/early evening was spent at the Youngs. Eating Liz's AMAZING pulled pork, and continuing to drink (mm...H2O!!). It was a great time to catch up with some out of town folks who I had not seen for about a year. And some of the drunken comments about my being pregnant were CLASSIC! And not to burst anyone's bubble, but I probably won't name my baby after you...if I do it will be a coincidence.

The night ended with me learning a good lesson (thank you Jon) NEVER put a keg on it's side! haha! Jon was helping us carry the kegs out to the car and he even attempted to put the keg in the trunk, on it's side, until it started spraying everywhere...LOL!!! Thanks Jon I needed that!

What a fun day with great friends! Can't wait to do it all again next year!!! (anyone want to babysit?!)

Oh yea!! And baby bump: week 22!!

If you can't say anything nice...

Don't say anything at all. If there is anything I remember learning as a child is it that statement. It is also because of that statement that I have not blogged very much lately. I have been in kind of a poor mood, just being hormonal and sensitive to others and their opinions. Therefore I didn't want to say anything I would regret so I kept it all to myself. I have been trying to teach myself that others opinions do not matter, and I am in charge of my life, so they can move along and bother someone else. But this has been pretty difficult for me, it is something I will continue to work on....as I continue to live my life just as I want making my very own decisions. So instead of making this a gloomy blog for the day...lets talk about some things that are SUPER EXCITING!!!!

#1- As of yesterday 2/28/2011 my dad has been CANCER free for 8 years!!! YAY DADDY!!!!!! What a great guy, man I love him.

#2- Girl Scout cookies are in!!!! WOO HOOO!! What else does a prego need? One box of peanut butter patties and I am set :)

#3- I FINALLY found some bras that lift, support, and are mildly comfortable for everyday wear!! OMG...tomorrow I will be testing them out, so PLEASE wish me luck!!! I tried Dillard's, and the lady was super realistic and helpful! (Ann's Bra Shop can shove it, Lane Bryant can move along, and Nordstroms I'm still on the fence with you)

#4- It is MARCH!!! OMG- one of my favorite months!!! Mardi Gras is this weekend!!!! Root's birthday is this month, (as well as my brothers and mother-in-laws birthdays) St. Patrick's Day is this month, and SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!!!!

#5- I am healthy and able to continue swimming 3 miles/week! I have been noticing the belly bump dragging underwater a little more than usual (as expected) but my strokes are getting stronger and better. I continue to improve my time for completing my mile work out, even though I continue to grow (slowly).#6- I am super busy at work, but doing a great job of staying on top of things- well paperwork at least. Wish I could say the same about remembering meetings!!! hahah!!!!
#7- Baby Lampley continues to grow and kick!!! It is so much fun trying to predict when and where the next kick will be. What a strong little baby!!! GROW BABY GROW!!!
