How am I feeling....?

I get this question a lot, so I thought I would write down how I am feeling. Physically I am feel pretty good! Which is kind of crazy. I do not have much back pain, minimal heart burn (I am up to 1-2 Tums a week), minimal swelling (I miss wearing my wedding ring though), and I have had an increase in being tired. If I sit for too long I get stiff, and I have been "rolling" around to get out of bed and off of the couch...oh what a sight to see :)

I have been walking 5-6 days a week, and the past few days I have been getting some bad burning in my tibialis anterior while walking, and I am not sure if it is because of the increased weight or maybe a change in position as my joints become a little more relaxed. I have also been getting my tan on at the pool, and let me tell you swimming has saved me this pregnancy. To be "weightless" and the hydrostatic pressure of the water has dramatically helped to keep swelling at a minimum and my joints flexible and not stiff. Even though it is official that I am not able to put my feet behind my head at this point, I can still touch the top of my head with my foot! I think that's pretty good for being due in 12 days.

I have also been "nesting" like crazy. I am fully aware when I am cleaning something if it is "regular" or if I am really being a nut. For instance, I took all the food out of the cabinets and rearranged it all. I caught myself cleaning wall tiles in the kitchen....and now I want to clean the grout and make it pretty. I actually found myself dusting the ONE fake plant we have in our house (outside of course, cause those things get CRAZY dusty) and I sneezed for like an hour afterward.

I am trying to get in my last few dates with my husband, and my girlfriends. I have at least one big outing planned each day, until the BIG ARRIVAL!!! I hope I keep feeling this good!!

Progress on Baby L :)

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE ON THE GENDER OF BABY L!!! -------->

Well I have been gone for a while again. I don't know what got to me. Maybe it was the "nesting" that had to take place at my house to get ready for the baby, or maybe it was the sleeping I am trying to get in before the baby arrives. Either way I have been neglecting my blog (even though every day I have something I want to blab about).

I will begin with my physical progress on Baby L's arrival. Well my OFFICIAL due date continues to be 7-9-11, my estimated date of arrival based on baby's size at the last ultrasound (6 months) was 7-5-11. Needless to say either one of those dates is fast approaching!

I have been going to the OB every week for the past 3 weeks to get "checked" for progress. The first appointment I received the best and most awkward compliment I have ever heard....My OB is proud of my uterus. She stated that most women with an abnormal uterus do not make it this far in pregnancy and that mine is doing GREAT! WHOO HOOO!! The baby's heart beat was 128, and she suspected that we were head down. Although everything was still "high" I was not dilated and just maybe BARELY effaced. The second appointment baby's heart beat was 125, we again suspected head down, no dilation, slightly effaced, and the baby may have dropped a LITTLE from the previous week. The third appointment I had a nurse practitioner, baby's heart beat was 130, still no dilation, slightly effaced, and she stated I was still "high".

The fourth appointment will be this Friday, and we will also have an ultrasound to make sure in fact baby is head down, and estimate size. I have an induction scheduled for 7-11-11 if baby L does not want to come before then.

I have been doing EVERYTHING to try to get this baby to progress throughout the past few weeks. Walking everyday, cleaning lots, eating spicy foods, massage, pedicure, and a few others. I have successfully nested my house into a home, I have 1 more picture to hang in Baby's room, then I will post pics of the nursery.

My husband and I talk every night about how slowly this time is going, and wondering if we will look back and think wow that time flew by! We are unsure at this point. Looking back we have spent over a year trying to get pregnant and being pregnant. I feel like once we were ready to commit to trying to start a family we were ready to be parents, and did not expect the wait. Although it has given us time to be together one last time as 2...before we welcome #3 :)

I am excited to find out if Baby L is a boy or girl, and I believe that I will be SHOCKED if it is a girl. I am pretty much expecting a bouncing baby boy...but she may prove me wrong!

T-minus 13 days until we for sure welcome Baby L!

I'm baaaack....

Whew...I figured out how to get back on my blog...and while this heat wave goes through town and I wait for my new dishwasher to be installed I will blog. (And because I know you all missed me so :)

Here is a small re-cap of what I have been up to the last month.

1) Mother daughter Banquet- my mother in law hosts a banquet every year at her church and this year the theme was- Sock Hop (I think) Poodle skirts, hamburgers, ice cream, and soda- can't go wrong with any of that!
2) My first and ONLY mothers-to-be day EVER!!! (because if I am ever pregnant during another mother's day I will already be a mother to one baby, not a mother-to-be...get it?) Scott took me to the pool (I REALLY wanted to go swimming), then we went to lunch at The Fountain on Locust- I HIGHLY recommend this place. Their ice cream is AMAZING, and lunch was yummy too. It was a great day!
3) BABY SHOWERS!!!! I had a baby shower at each of my school's that I work at. My co-workers have GOT TO BE some of the best ever. I got so many great things for Baby L, and we had super yummy cake at both of them. THANKS STANTON and KELLISON FRIENDS!!!

4) MORE BABY SHOWERS!!!! I had my family/friends shower at my mom's house, hosted by her and my sister-in-law. Everything was super cute and they went with an owl theme (that is the decor in the nursery). I had such a good time it was nice to see my family and friends, and Baby L got some super fun things! Can't wait to try them all out! THANK YOU!!!!5) I closed up shop at work for the school year. Not only did I have to close all my students files for the summer, I had to write up transfer info sheets for each student for my subs for next year, and prepare all my data sheets/attendance records/daily notes for each student also. Therefore I basically did all the work I would have done at the end of the year, plus the work I would have done at the beginning of next year...and transfer sheets just for fun :) SO glad I got it all done and can check that off the list.

6) SLUGFEST 2011!!! This is a yearly camping trip at Cuivre River State Park in Troy, MO. This year was the 20th annual trip and special T-shirts were made and they sported an image of a drawn picture of Root by Eyeball. I must say they are pretty awesome! We ate TONS of food, and Witch Kristen told me I was going to have 1 baby girl...following her oh so sure pencil test ;) Only time will tell!

7) Preparing the nursery for baby L! I have some sheets washed, some clothes washed, and toys/books all organized. Things are beginning to fall into place!

8) Now is time to relax and hopefully get some good time by the pool while it is SUPER HOT! Can't wait until this dishwasher installer is done here because I am headed straight for the pool, WITH extra sun screen...because this momma does NOT want to get sunburned...just lightly toasted :)

Until we meet again! Which shouldn't be too long now that I know how to get back on my blog. :P
